Families and specifically daughters have a tough time balancing work and the commitments of being a caregiver for their aging parents. But help may be close.
The Hope Grows Victorian Tea and Tee Time Golf Classic was a huge success. The 126 tea sippers were entertained by the St. John Newman’s Ensemble and Dr. Edmund Ricci provided compelling caregiver statistics as well as his own caregiver experience. The theme for the Victorian Tea event was the Joy of Caregiving. Guests received a yellow tea rose, symbolizing friendship and optimism along with a sample of the Elevation blend of the doTERRA essential oil. A delectable menu of tea sandwiches and treats were enjoyed along with two different tea’s from the Cafe’ Kolache in Beaver, PA with the Hope Grows Blend available for purchase through Hope Grows and the Cafe’ Kolache until the end of the year.
Tee Time Golf Classic
The golfers began the scramble style event at 9:00 am and were able to dodge the rain again this year. The clouds opened up at the end with only a few golfers getting wet. Rob D’Amico won the chance to try for the million dollar shot. A Tee Time Golf Classic would not be the same without winners. Our 1st place winners, Tony DeMaio, Nick Sanner, Adam Sanner, and Eric Grejda at 13-under-par. Second place winners were Ralph DiMartino, Tim DiMartino, Bob Struth and Eric Hendershot at 12-under-par determined in a tie breaker by the handicapped hole. Third place winners were Buddy Jones, Kevin Kochirka, John Barthurst, and Tony Ficcari at 12-under-par. Dean Young and Sean McHugh had the Closest to the Pin with Eric Hendershot having the Longest Drive for the Men and Cindy Ellek having the Longest Drive for the Women.
The tea sippers and golfers joined together for dinner and prize winning with one lucky guest winning the 50/50 raffle payout of $1050. Hope Grows is extremely appreciative of the attendance, which was a 22% increase from last year. Guests, sponsors, donors, and supporters of the event helped us to raise $25,000. Please consider joining us again next year on the 3rd Sunday of May. Check your email soon for a survey to provide feedback on the event. Thank you to everyone for attending and choosing Hope Grows and the mission of caregivers as your charity to support!
