Time With Nature Provides Us With Clarity and Vision

If the flowers already blooming in early spring weren’t enough to amaze my senses and bring inner joy and peace to my heart, nature continues to offer more. 

As I walk around the property of the Iris Respite House, I notice the Red Bud bursting with beautiful purple flowers and the wisteria ready to explode with beauty. The bleeding hearts display their unique show of flowers and the remaining plants are getting bigger and greener by the day. Even the sound of the birds busily going about their day stirs inner thoughts of excitement and release of dismay from the pandemic.

Look Into Your Own Heart

Carl Jung put it best when he said, “Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart.” So, what do you think he meant by that? 

For me, it becomes a place of being mindful and feeling good about the reciprocal relationship that occurs between myself and nature. When I go into nature, the interaction fills my bucket with pleasant emotions, so that I can take my dreams and awake my inner self. When life creates confusion, I can rely on my bucket of emotions, with positive thoughts and have feelings to spare.

Time and Mindful Meditation

This month’s focus was about clarity and vision.  Albert Einstein said that, “A man should look for what is, and not for what he thinks should be.” When going through life, I recommend we go with the flow and look within our journey with acceptance of what is and not what we think it should be.  

The Clarity Provided By Ecotherapy

Ecotherapy, also known as nature therapy, is about harmonizing people’s relationship with the Earth. As I spent Memorial Day weekend interacting with the earth with the tasks of gardening, it became inherently clear that reuniting with my environment provided clarity and focus. It was extremely hot for this time of year and instead of complaining about the heat, I went with the flow; my tasks were simplified.

As we spent the month talking about clarity, it became evident that if we go about life being accepting of what is, confusion and difficulties can be lifted.

As we move from May and walk into June, remember one last thought from Anthony Douglas Williams. The Canadian spiritualist, writer, and animal activist recommends that we “take a quiet walk with Mother Nature. It will nurture your mind, body, and soul.” Give us a call and join us in the gardens at the Iris Respite House for continued clarity and vision.
