Garden of Resilience

Hope Grows is proud to partner with the Four Twelve Project, a wine and dinery committed to community, quality, and wellness. Together, we’ve cultivated a meaningful collaboration rooted in healing, sustainability, and the simple beauty of growing something fresh.

At the heart of this partnership is a vibrant hydroponic garden maintained by Hope Grows, featuring a rotating selection of fresh herbs and greens. Grown without soil in nutrient-rich water systems, these plants thrive year-round inside the Four Twelve Project dining space, offering both culinary value and a therapeutic connection to nature.

In exchange for our continued care and maintenance of the hydroponic system, Four Twelve Project has generously sponsored one of Hope Grows’ Healing Gardens, helping us provide restorative spaces for family caregivers and individuals experiencing grief and stress. As part of this exchange, the Four Twelve menu now features a Hope Grows Salad, created with ingredients that speak to our shared values of nourishment, renewal, and local sustainability.

Healing & Restorative Properties

This partnership exemplifies the beautiful reciprocity between food, community, and healing. As Hope Grows tends the herbs that feed the kitchen, Four Twelve uplifts our mission of inspiring wellness through nature — one salad, one garden, one guest at a time.

Suggested Therapeutic Activity

Guests are invited to dine among the living greenery, where they can see — and even smell — the very herbs that flavor their meals. This living installation not only enhances the atmosphere but serves as a subtle reminder of nature’s role in nurturing our bodies and spirits. While waiting for the host to seat you, take in the hydroponics and ponder what caregiving means to you. Rosalyn Carter was once quoted saying that there 4 types of people in the world. “Those that are caregivers, those that were caregivers, those that know of a caregiver, and those that are being cared for.”

Volunteer Schedule

While volunteers are always welcome, the need for this garden is undefined. If you would like to offer assistance, please contact Barbie Custer.

Seasonal Maintenance Description

The hydroponics are serviced once a week for about 1 hour each visit, with a quarterly clean out of the system and need plants replenished at that time. The rotation is in keeping with the restaurant’s seasonal changes.
